AI Visibility Journal (AVJ) measures and writes about companies that sell AI visibility products and services, and about the AI platforms themselves. That only works if readers can trust that our conclusions are not for sale. These are our commitments.

Who owns AVJ

AI Visibility Journal is owned and funded by its co-founder, Nhi Phan. There are no outside investors, advertisers or sponsors. No AI company, AI visibility software vendor, SEO platform or agency owns any part of AVJ or funds its work. Ownership and funding are described on our About page, and every revenue source is listed on our Disclosures page. If we use a third-party provider to collect or license data, we name it in the methodology of each study. If any of this changes, we will update those pages before publishing anything affected, and disclose the relationship in the relevant articles.

No paid rankings. Ever.

  • No company can pay to be included in, excluded from or ranked in the AVJ Citation Index or any AVJ research.
  • No company can pay to appear in, or be left out of, any list, comparison or review we publish.
  • We do not sell “featured” placements, badges, certifications or awards.

No payment for coverage

We do not accept payment, gifts or favors in exchange for coverage. We do not publish paid guest posts, link insertions or undisclosed sponsored content.

Separation of business and editorial

AVJ has no sponsors or advertisers today. If we introduce sponsorship, advertising, events or data products, commercial partners:

  • will not see articles or data before publication;
  • cannot review, approve or change our work;
  • will be disclosed on our Disclosures page and, where relevant, in the article itself.

Sponsored material, if we ever publish it, will be labeled “Sponsored” at the top, will never be presented as research, and will never be part of the Index.

Our people

Everyone who writes or edits for AVJ agrees that they:

  • will not cover a company in which they hold a financial interest, or for which they have worked or consulted in the past 24 months, without disclosing it in the article and having it approved by the editor-in-chief;
  • will not hold shares or other equity in AI visibility software vendors while covering that market, except through broad index funds;
  • will not accept gifts above nominal value, or paid travel or hospitality, from companies we cover;
  • will disclose any other relationship a reasonable reader would want to know about.

The editor-in-chief’s own disclosures are on our Disclosures page.

Vendors and research partners

When we use data or tools provided by a company we may also cover, we say so in the article and explain any terms attached. When we cite research produced by vendors, we label it as vendor research.

Interviews

We choose interview guests for what readers can learn from them. Guests do not pay to appear and are not paid to appear. We conduct interviews in writing; guests may review their own answers for accuracy before publication, but they do not approve the article.

Fair treatment

We give companies and people we criticize a fair opportunity to respond before publication, and we report their response accurately.

Accountability

If you think we have fallen short of these commitments, tell us at [email protected]. We will look into it and, where we were wrong, say so publicly.
